At the Professorship of Empirical Health Economics, we are looking for two motivated student research assistants (m/f/d) to join our project “Maternal Labor Supply: What Mothers Say” as soon as possible. For this project, we have conducted qualitative interviews with Dutch mothers about their employment decisions. We are looking for support in analysing these interviews.
Your tasks:
You will first familiarize yourself with a predefined system of categories describing possible reasons behind mothers’ employment decisions. Examples include a lack of childcare options, financial considerations, or the desire to spend more time with family. You will then carefully read the interviews and assign the mothers’ statements to the appropriate categories.
Your profile:
- Excellent written and spoken Dutch (native speakers preferred)
- A reliable and accurate approach to work
- Enrolled student in any field of study
The position is limited to one year and comprises a total of 36 working hours (an average of 3 hours per month). Working hours can be distributed flexibly over the employment period, with most of the work expected to take place at the beginning. The current hourly wage is €15.20 gross, totalling approximately €550 over the entire contract period.
We offer:
- Interesting work with social relevance
- Flexible working hours
- Insights into academic research and the opportunity to contribute to an ongoing research project
Please send your application (a short cover letter, CV, and transcript of academic records) by email to: jan.berendsen@uni-hamburg.de.
