professorship to be filled at the earliest possible date:

Your profile

We are currently seeking an architect with outstanding skills and proven practical

experience in digital design and construction methodologies. Additional skills and

experience in the areas of parametric design, AI-assisted design, BIM-based design, and

project management, as well as in applied and scientific research, would be a plus.

In addition, we are looking for:

− In-depth practical knowledge and experience in the areas of BIM, digital planning

methods, and BIM management

− Relevant professional experience in architecturally challenging building

construction projects and digital design processes

− Willingness to conduct scientific research and publish research findings;

experience in securing external funding is a plus

− Strong communication skills, team orientation and the ability to work in an

interdisciplinary manner

− Strong written and spoken German and English skills; willingness to hold courses

in English. Solid French language skills are strongly encouraged

Your tasks

This subject area in the consecutive bachelor’s/master’s degree programs focuses on

providing students with fundamental knowledge and advanced skills in the application of

digital methods throughout the entire architectural design, planning, and implementation

process, as well as their continuous further development.

− Teaching activities in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in German and,

where applicable, English, both in project-based form and in the context of subjectrelated lectures

− Supervising design projects in the classroom

− Initiating and realizing research projects in your area of expertise

− Establishing and maintaining partnerships with the construction industry, other

universities and research institutions to promote practical research and teaching

− Actively participating in academic self-administration, in the further development of

degree programs, and in the strategic development of the department

− On-site presence at the university in order to provide optimal support for students

Your qualifications (according to the Saarland Higher Education Act

Shsg)

− A college degree in architecture or a related field such as civil engineering

− Teaching aptitude, generally verified by experience in teaching or training and by

participation in advanced and further training courses in higher education didactics

− A special aptitude for scientific work, as demonstrated, as a rule, by the quality of a

doctoral dissertation

− Special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and

methods gained during at least five years of professional practice, of which at least

three years must have been spent outside the higher education sector, in a field

corresponding to the subject being represented
