Applicants are expected to broadly represent research and teaching in evolutionary biology and population genetics. The desired research focus should be on the analysis of genetic variation and its spatial and temporal dynamics in natural and experimental eukaryotic animal populations. The successful candidate should combine testing and further development of theoretical concepts in evolutionary biology with empirical approaches based on modern genomics methods, bioinformatics and population genetic modelling. Close cooperation with scientists from other TiHo institutions within the framework of the Biodiversity research focus is expected. In addition to the independent acquisition of third-party funding, participation in existing research networks at TiHo as well as active involvement in the establishment of new research collaborations is expected.
