The Institute of Organic Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Münster is seeking to fill the position of a

Your tasks:

• collaboration in research and teaching
• providing students with subject-related expertise and instruction on applying scientific methods
• conducting independent research
• contributing to the administration of the working group
• maintaining the infrastructure of the working group

Our expectations:

• A doctoral degree (PhD or Dr. rer. nat.) in chemistry with focus on organic chemistry is required
• Good command of written and spoken English is expected
• We also expect substantiated knowledge of
  • organic chemistry and radical chemistry,
  • standard analytical methods (e.g. NMR, mass spectroscopy, UV/vis),
  • standard laboratory techniques (e.g. working under inert gas),
  • the processing of a methodological research project.
• We also expect theoretical and practical experience in research in
  • meta-functionalization of pyridine and quinolines derivatives
  • transition metal free photochemistry
  • radical chain mechanism,
  • water activation using phosphines,
  • skeletal editing,
  • enantioselective metal catalysis.
