Within Faculty IV, in the department of Business Administration, the chair of Corporate Finance and
Capital Markets (Professor Axel Adam-Müller) invites applications for the following position, to be
filled as soon as possible:
Postdoc (m/f/d)
Salary Scale E 13 TV-L, full-time (100%). The position is fixed-term for three years and is
intended to support postdoc studies (habilitation or equivalent research achievements) in
accordance with the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG).
Your responsibilities
- Research in Corporate Finance
o Conducting independent research, for example in the areas of Sustainable Finance,
Corporate Risk Management or Private Credit
o Preparing academic publications and research reports
o Presenting research findings at conferences and workshops
- Teaching in Corporate Finance
o Assisting with the design and delivery of teaching activities in undergraduate and
postgraduate programmes
o Supervising and supporting students with undergraduate and postgraduate thesis projects
- Administrative Duties
o Supporting the administrative activities of the chair
What We Expect
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) completed with excellent results in one of the following disciplines:
o Business Administration or Economics
o Mathematics, Financial Mathematics or Statistics or
o a related discipline with a strong business or economics focus
- PhD/doctoral degree in a relevant field
- Strong interest in research and teaching in the field of corporate finance
- Experience in quantitative research methods
- Excellent written and spoken English
- The ability to work independently, together with a high level of commitment, flexibility, teamwork,
communication and organisational skills
- Eligibility for appointment in accordance with Section 57 (2) and (3) of the Rhineland-Palatinate
Higher Education Act (HochSchG)
