The Chair of Information Systems and Platform Economy, Prof. Dr. Thomas Kude (www.uni-bamberg.de/ispl) is

seeking applications for a position as a

Research assistant (doctoral student or postdoc) (m/f/d)

(100% of regular working hours; pay grade/“Entgeltgruppe” TV-L E 13)

The position is available for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

Our research and teaching activities at the Chair of Information Systems and Platform Economy focus on topics

related to the design and role of digital platforms and ecosystems at the organizational, team, individual, industry,

and society level. We use a variety of methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, to create relevant

knowledge for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.

– Our chair publishes regularly in premier IS outlets, including MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research,

and holds or has held editorial board memberships at the field’s leading journals, e.g., the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) or MIS Quarterly. The IS group at the University of Bamberg is one of the

largest and most productive IS groups in Germany, with 9 chairs covering a broad range of IS topics.

Your role:

  • Develop a research program for your dissertation project (if applying as a doctoral student)
  • Conduct high-quality research, present at national and international conferences, and publish in top-tier academic journals
  • Be involved in the group’s teaching activities at the bachelor and master levels
  • Contribute to developing and sustaining the group’s work culture and environment

Your profile:

  • Genuine curiosity and ambition to conduct high-quality research and teaching
  • University degree at the master’s level or equivalent qualification (for doctoral students) or PhD/doctoral

degree (for postdocs) in infor-mation systems, management, economics, computer science, or related fields

with a sufficient grade

  • Ability to work autonomously and in teams
  • Proficiency in English is required. Basic knowledge of German is helpful.
