University Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders)
30 hours/week | limited to 4 years
At the Institute of Materials Chemistry, in the Research Group for Molecular Materials Chemistry TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant prae-doc (all genders) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: August 2026.
Tasks:
- Synthesis and modification of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs)
- Structural elucidation of MOFs and COFs and application of methods for material characterization
- Evaluation of optoelectronic properties and testing for photocatalytic applications (e.g., solar hydrogen and ammonia synthesis)
- Collaboration on research and teaching tasks (e.g. synsthesis lab) as well as examinations
- Cooperation and guidance of students
- Deepening scientific knowledge
- Writing a dissertation and publications
- Participation in scientific events
- Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science
- Advanced knowledge of inorganic, organometallic, and reticular chemistry
- Experience in the synthesis and characterization of organometallic hybrid materials (e.g., MOFs)
- Experience in the evaluation of optoelectronic and photocatalytic material properties
- Knowledge of scientific research methods
- Very good skills in German and English communication and writing (C1)
- Interest in research in the field as well as supervision and work with students
- Very good communicative skills and team competences and innovative ability
- Teamcompetences, problem-solving and innovative abilities

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,832.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
