Beschreibung

The research project TabA – Tafsīr beyond Arabic is seeking to hire two postdoctoral researchers 

for a period of five years, from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031.

You are 

• a specialist in tafsīr and/or Islamic manuscripts, as demonstrated by your PhD thesis and/or publication record,
• passionate about historical research,
• able to work with sources in Arabic as well as at least one relevant source language, for example Persian, Ottoman Turkish, Turkestani, Malay, Javanese, Urdu, or Hausa,
• proficient in English and interested in joining an international team of researchers,
• willing to acquire skills in digital methods and contribute to joint publications.
