The Protestant University of Applied Sciences is a state-recognised University of Applied Sciences run by the Protestant Church in Württemberg. Around 1,200 students in twelve accredited degree programmes benefit from the diverse offering at Protestant University of Applied Sciences, Ludwigsburg. Internationally oriented and regionally rooted, the University provides a broad spectrum of teaching, research and continuous education and professional training.

The Protestant University of Applied Sciences, Ludwigsburg, is looking to fill two positions, financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) from 15. November 2026:

Scientific collaborator/Akademische Mitarbeiter*in (m/w/d) in the DFG project TransCaMiUA
Scope of each position: 65%, fixed-term, doctorate possible

Your tasks

The tasks of the two new members of staff include contributing to the above-mentioned research project through desk-based research; conducting and analysing qualitative interviews and cooperation with co‑researchers, project partners and the scientific advisory board. The research approach combines aspects of social support research, migration and transition research and is based on a participatory, qualitative longitudinal design.

Your profile

  • Degree in social sciences or educational sciences (Master’s level or university diploma) which generally qualifies for doctoral studies, or a degree in a comparable field
  • Sound knowledge of qualitative empirical social research and experience in project work
  • Knowledge in the field of refugee and migration research
  • In addition, knowledge in the field of transition research or social support research is desirable
  • Proficiency in English as an academic language, excellent spoken and written Ukrainian and/or Russian, very good German language skills
  • Interest in intensive academic work and, if applicable, in pursuing a doctorate
  • Self-driven and with organisational skills and the ability to work independently and to critically reflect on one´s own work
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate, as well as strong presentation skills
