We seek:

In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Physik / Experimentelle Teilchenphysik, we are looking for a researcher  as of the 01.10.2026  at the following conditions:

  • working time:  26,69 Stunden (67 %)
  • Pay grade 13  TV-L
  • limited  until 30.09.2029

Your tasks:

  • Your research activity will focus on the development of microstructured silicon detector for applications in high energy physics.
  • Design of the electrical system and services of the silicon pixel detector for the Insight experiment at the ELSA accelerator within the CmF cluster.
  • Contributions to the commissioning of the ATLAS ITk Pixel Detector for the ATLAS Experiment at CERN
  • documentation of scientific results as well as publications
  • teaching activities (tutoring of exercise groups for example)
  • Supervision of students for Master’s and Bachelor’s theses
  • Teaching obligation: 2 SWS

Your profile:

  • University degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Physics and
  • Completed university studies in Physics
  • Experience in the development and operation of silicon pixel or strip detectors
  • Programming skills (C/C++, Python)
  • Ability to work and communicate in a team
  • Willingness for limited travel
  • Very good English language skills
  • German language skills are desirable
