Modern, interconnected, conscious of tradition: Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) is the

oldest and largest university in the State of Saxony-Anhalt with a history dating back more than 500 years.

Today more than 20,000 students are enrolled at MLU.

The Thera4Age collaborative research project – Innovative therapeutic concepts for age-associated diseases

• uses a translational approach to develop and preclinically test therapeutic strategies for several showcases

of age-associated diseases. To this end, working groups from various scientific and medical disciplines are

jointly exploring, e.g., new drug delivery systems/medical product candidates, testing diagnostic tools and

evaluating promising molecular targets.

Within the project Thera4Age, the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences I,

Institute of Pharmacy, is seeking to fill the temporary position of a

Research Associate (m-f-d)

for a fixed term currently until 31.12.2027, in part-time (50 %) starting from 01.11.2026.

The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, manufacturing and characterisation of delivery systems to enhance the oral bioavailability of

senolytic molecules

• Development and improvement of electrospinning and electrospraying procedures
• Dissolution and release studies
• Active interdisciplinary cooperation within the Thera4age consortium (https://thera4age.uni-halle.de)
• Publishing of scientific articles

The possibility of academic qualification is given.

Requirements:

• Completed academic university studies in the fields of pharmacy, natural sciences, or engineering (Master’s

degree or second state exam)

• Expertise in the field of electrospinning/electrospraying
• Expertise for working in laboratory
• Very good German or English skills, both spoken and written
• Teamwork, communication skills and problem-solving ability
