PhD Candidate in Mathematics (Discrete Mathematics and Combinatorics) (m/f/d)

(Full-time 38,5 hours/week, limited for 3 years)

Your tasks:

• Conduct doctoral research in discrete mathematics, with emphasis on combinatorial and structural aspects of graphs, maps, or related objects.

• Study exact enumeration and classification problems for constrained combinatorial structures.

• Explore connections between combinatorics, topology, and algebra.

• Develop and implement exact or symbolic algorithms for combinatorial problems.

• Prepare scientific publications and a doctoral dissertation.

• Participate in research seminars, workshops, and international conferences.

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.

• Solid background in discrete mathematics, combinatorics, graph theory, or algebra.

• Strong analytical skills and interest in theoretical research.

• Motivation to pursue a PhD in a research-oriented international environment.

• Programming experience is an advantage but not required.

  

• Very good command of written and spoken English.
