Lecturer (m/f/d) in AI for Corporate Communications – Bachelor’s programme (freelance)
Starting in the winter semester from 5 October 2026.
Your course
Module concept:
Students gain a practical understanding of how artificial intelligence – in particular generative AI – can be used across the whole range of corporate communications, from research and audience analysis to content creation, translation and localisation. The focus is on low-threshold, hands-on access: students work with current AI tools in every session, experiment with them, and learn to assess their output critically in terms of quality, bias, transparency and legal and ethical limits. Examples and cases are consistently anchored in international and, above all, intercultural communication contexts, so that students experience where AI-supported communication works well across languages, markets and cultural expectations – and where it does not.
Teaching contents may include:
- Foundations of AI for communicators: how generative AI works in principle, what it can and cannot do, and what this means for communication practice
- Prompting and workflow design: writing and iterating prompts, working with brand voice, tone-of-voice specifications and style guides
- AI-supported content production: press releases, social media posts, newsletters, speeches, blog articles, image and video concepts
- Translation, transcreation and localisation: multilingual campaigns with AI, and recognising where cultural adaptation goes beyond translation
- Intercultural communication and AI: cultural bias in models, culturally appropriate framing, register and imagery for different markets and audiences
- Research, listening and analysis: media monitoring, sentiment analysis, stakeholder and audience insights, summarising large volumes of material
- Internal communications, employee communications and AI-supported stakeholder dialogue (e.g. chatbots and assistants)
- Crisis communication: scenario simulation, message testing, and the risks of misinformation, deepfakes and synthetic media
- Quality assurance: fact-checking, source criticism and recognising hallucinations and factual errors
- Ethics, transparency, data protection (GDPR), copyright and the EU AI Act; developing AI guidelines for a communications team
- Selecting and evaluating tools, and building simple AI-supported workflows for a communications department
Teaching methods:
- Hands-on workshops in which students work directly with current AI tools
- Applied case studies and simulations from international companies, agencies and non-profit organisations, with an explicit intercultural focus
- Project work in small, culturally mixed teams, for example developing an AI-supported communication campaign for an unfamiliar market
- The language of instruction is English
Your profile
- A completed university degree in communication studies, public relations, journalism, marketing, media, intercultural communication or a comparable field
- Sound practical experience in corporate communications, PR or marketing communications, ideally with international or intercultural exposure
- Confident, up-to-date command of current AI tools and their application in communication
- Ideally initial teaching experience at a university or other educational institution
- Enthusiasm for working with an international, culturally diverse student body
- Business-fluent English
What we offer
- A rewarding role at the interface between academia and professional practice
- An international audience and a genuine campus atmosphere
- A well-connected campus in the south of Munich with its own bistro
- A collegial and straightforward working relationship within a dedicated team
