Reference number W2889, salary in accordance with the German TV-L salary scale1, pay grade: E13 TV- L, duration

of employment: 3 years, volume of employment: 75 % of standard working time.

Job requirements and responsibilities:

The advertised position is associated with a research project led by Dr. Regine Bader (Experimental Neuropsychology

Unit, Saarland University), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and conducted in cooperation with Prof.

Dr. Patric Meyer (SRH University of Applied Sciences in Heidelberg). The project investigates the neurocognitive

foundations of familiarity-based memory. The position to be filled includes the following responsibilities: Planning,

programming and conducting behavioral and electroencephalography (EEG) studies, data analysis, project

organization (including supervision of student research assistants), and contributing to data management,

documentation, open science practices as well as the preparation of publications and progress reports.

The position is designed to enable the completion of a PhD. Saarland University provides structured doctoral support,

including supervision, access to core facilities, methodological training, and opportunities for participation in

seminars, workshops, and international conferences. While Saarland University offers flexible working arrangements

including partial remote work, regular on-site presence is essential for experimental work. Applicants must either

reside within commuting distance to Saarbrücken or be willing to relocate to the area.

Your academic qualifications:

• Completed university studies in Psychology or Cognitive Neurosciences (or related field)
• Language skills (according to GER): English – C1

The successful candidate will also be expected to:

• be interested in memory research and face recognition
• have previous experience with experimental research (and electrophysiological methods)
• have programming experience (E-Prime, PsychoPy)
• have data analysis skills (e.g., MATLAB, R)
• have a careful, independent and structured working style

requirements of the pay grade within the TV-L salary scale. Part-time employment is generally possible.
