Halle-Wittenberg is seeking a part-time (50%)
Academic Coordinator (m-f-d) for International Master’s Study Programme
“Christianity in Global Transformations”
for a fixed term of 2 years starting from 01.10.2026.
The above fixed-term contract is in accordance with Section 14, Paragraph 2 of the TzBfG (Teilzeit- und Be-
fristungsgesetz – ‘German Part-Time and Fixed-Term Employment Act’), which stipulates that only applicants
with no prior employment relationship with the state of Saxony-Anhalt will be considered.
Remuneration will be determined based on job duties and responsibilities and will be aligned with the fulfillment of listed personal requirements, up to pay grade 13 under the TV-L (Tarifvertrag für den Öffentlichen
Dienst der Länder – ‚German Public Service Pay Agreement for the Federal States‘).
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the international Master’s programme “Christianity in Global Transformations”, including academic advising, module coordination, examination administration, course scheduling, and support for
teaching staff and students.
- Teach courses in the Master’s programme (teaching load: 2 weekly contact hours during the semester).
- Develop and implement outreach and student recruitment activities, including website and social media
management, online information events, and communication with prospective students.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree (Master of Theology or Master of Divinity) in Protestant Theology (Lutheran or Reformed
tradition).
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level).
- Demonstrated experience teaching at university level in English.
- Experience in counselling and pastoral care for students.
- Familiarity with English-speaking academic and ecclesiastical contexts.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, reliably, and in a well-structured manner.
- Interest in global Christianity and international theological education.
