The DFG Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob – Robotics and Phenotyping for Sustainable Crop Production (www.phenorob.de) takes a technology-driven approach towards sustainable crop production using techniques from robotics, machine learning, plant phenotyping, and modeling. These technologies lead to new opportunities for field management, plant breeding, or sustainable crop production. The professorship will be newly established and strengthen the Cluster of Excellence PhenoRob with a focus on crop or plant sciences. Applications are welcome within this broad spectrum. In the selection process, preference may be given to the following topics:
- Crop Genome Engineering
- Robot-assisted Horticulture
- Pest Forecast
- Disease Forecast
- Sustainable Pest Control
- Sustainable Disease Control
We seek an internationally visible individual who has achieved recognition in one of the above-mentioned research areas and will strengthen the Cluster. Researchers capable of building bridges between these fields are also encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated success in acquiring relevant extramural funding is required. The coordination of collaborative research projects and networks is expected for the future.
Teaching activities are expected in agricultural study programs of the Faculty of Agricultural, Nutritional and Engineering Sciences that relate to the above-mentioned topics.
The recruitment requirements are based on § 36 Hochschulgesetz NRW.
