Research Position (m/f/d) – Experimental Endocrinology and Tumor cell metabolism

The newly established working group of Experimental Endocrinology and Tumor Cell Metabolism is situated at the intersection of basic science and translational medicine. The focus is on the molecular and metabolic characterization of endocrine tumors, as well as the investigation of hormonal signaling pathways and metabolic reprogramming in tumor initiation and progression. The goal is to develop the mechanistic foundations for innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches and to translate these into clinical application in close collaboration with clinical partners. In particular, sex-specific aspects play an important role in our research and are addressed in various preclinical models.
Your Tasks
Research (100 %):
- participation in an EU-funded collaborative project
- conduction and interpretion of experiments on human and murine primary cells, cell lines, and stem cells
- preparation and analysis of biological samples

Your Profile
We expect
- completed scientific university degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, food chemistry, or another relevant scientific field
- a completed Ph. D. in a relevant field
- experience with cell culture (ideally including the cultivation of pluripotent stem cells)
- experience with molecular biology techniques
- interest in translational, patient-oriented research
- interest in hormonal and metabolic regulatory systems
- creativity and ability to work independently
- ability to work in a team, strong communication skills in English, flexibility, and resilience
- gender and diversity competence
Preferred experience and skills
- experience in supervising students (e. g., undergraduate and graduate students)
- experience in writing scientific papers, as evidenced by publications, demonstrating expertise in the investigation of molecular mechanisms
- experience in the field of endocrinology and/or tumor cell metabolism
