Computational archaeologist
Aufgaben
- Coordination of the CODA Lab
- Maintenance and data management of digital devices (total stations, GPS, pXRF, 3D-scanner etc.)
- Coordination of curricula development in digital and computational archaeology
- Teaching 1–2 courses per term focused on digital and computational archaeology
- Assistance and collaboration with the development of digital archaeological research projects
- Collaboration with members of the Digital Humanities and the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR) at the University of Bern
Anforderungen
- Excellent PhD in digital/computational archaeology
- Demonstrated proficiency of GIS, R, Python or other programming and scripting languages commonly used for databases and data processing (Java; JavaScript; HTML; XML; MySQL)
- Field work and research experience with archaeological finds and documentation systems
- Experience in teaching computational and digital archaeology courses
- Experience in curricula development is beneficial
- Teaching in German and/or English, other European languages are beneficial
