The Chair of Information Systems II is offering a full-time position as
Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
starting as soon as possible.
The Chair of Information Systems II, led by Professor Dr. Jens Förderer, is part of
the Business School of the University of Mannheim. Our research seeks to
understand how digital technologies—such as artificial intelligence, social
media, and analytics—impact firms and markets, with the goal of enabling
evidence-based strategic decision-making. We collect and analyze large-scale
datasets with a strong commitment to rigorous empirical work. Our dedication
to excellence is reflected in Professor Dr. Jens Förderer’s top rankings in
leading national rankings (Wirtschaftswoche) and recognition among Capital’s
„Top 40 under 40.“
Your tasks include:
Your primary responsibility will be research: Together with Professor Dr.
Jens Förderer, you will develop research studies with the goal of
publication in top journals of the field.
In addition, you will independently teach courses and supervise student
seminar papers, as well as bachelor‘s and master‘s theses.
You will take on leadership within the team, including mentoring doctoral
students. Besides, supervision of cooperations with strategic business
partners might complement the position.
Your profile:
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with an outstanding
academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for
research in information systems.
Candidates must hold a master’s degree in management, information
systems, industrial engineering, or adjacent field.
A completed doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent, e.g., Dr. rer. pol.) in
management, information systems, industrial engineering or adjacent
fields is required.
