Ihre Aufgaben

• Mitarbeit bei laufenden Forschungsprojekten, u.a. bei der Umsetzung von Software-Tools und -Anwendungen für den Einsatz

in Akustik und Computermusik sowie Wartung und Weiterentwicklung der IEM-Plugins

• Mithilfe bei Wartung, Betrieb und Weiterentwicklung der Forschungsinfrastruktur des Instituts
• Selbständige Durchführung von Lehrveranstaltungen und Abhaltung von Prüfungen
• Selbständige Forschungstätigkeiten
• Betreuung von Studierenden
• Mitarbeit bei Forschungs- und Lehraufgaben, die der Organisationseinheit, der sie zugewiesen sind, obliegen
• Mitarbeit bei Prüfungen
• Mitarbeit an Organisations- und Verwaltungsaufgaben sowie an Evaluierungsmaßnahmen

Ihr Profil

• Abschluss eines für die Verwendung in Betracht kommenden Master-(Diplom-)Studiums
• Fundierte Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Audiosignalverarbeitung und Maschinelles Lernen
• Programmierkenntnisse in: Python, Matlab und C/ C++
• Grundlegende Kenntnis im Umgang mit Frameworks für Maschinelles Lernen

z.B. PyTorch, Lightning, Tensor Flow, scikit-learn, …

• Erfahrungen mit Hard- und Software für Audio-Echtzeitanwendungen
• Sofern Deutsch nicht Erstsprache ist, ist der Nachweis der Kenntnis der deutschen Sprache auf Stufe C1 (Europäischer

Referenzrahmen für Sprachen) oder alternativ der Nachweis vergleichbarer Kenntnisse der englischen Sprache als

Voraussetzung für die Zulassung zum PhD-Studium zu erbringen.

• Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und gute Anschlussfähigkeiten an fachlich interdisziplinäre Forschungsteams
• Selbständige und zielorientierte Arbeitsweise
• Sensibilität im Umgang mit Gender, Diversität und Nachhaltigkeit
• Erfahrungen auf dem Gebiet der Wissenschaftsvermittlung sind erwünscht

Vertrag

• Das Arbeitsverhältnis ist auf 4 Studienjahre befristet. Das abzuschließende Arbeitsverhältnis hat auch den Abschluss eines

wissenschaftlichen Doktoratsstudiums im Fachbereich „Sound and Music Computing“ zum Ziel.

• Beschäftigungsausmaß: Teilzeitbeschäftigung im Ausmaß von 75 % einer Vollzeitbeschäftigung
• Entlohnung: Das monatliche Mindestentgelt für diese Verwendung beträgt derzeit € 2.832,07 brutto (14x jährlich, Einstufung

nach § 26 Universitäten-KV) und kann sich allenfalls auf Basis der kollektivvertraglichen Vorschriften durch die Anrechnung

tätigkeitsspezifischer Vorerfahrungen erhöhen.

Your Tasks

• Participation in ongoing research projects, including the development and implementation of software tools and applications

for use in acoustics and computer music, as well as the maintenance and further development of IEM plugins

• Assistance with the maintenance, operation, and further development of the institute’s research infrastructure
• Independent teaching of courses and holding exams
• Independent research activities
• Support of students
• Co-operation in research projects and teaching tasks for which the organisational unit to which they have been assigned, is

responsible

• Assistance in examinations
• Contribution to organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your Profile

• Diploma or master’s degree in an appropriate professional study area
• Solid knowledge in the areas of audio signal processing and machine learning
• Programming skills in Python, Matlab, and C/ C++
• Basic knowledge of working with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Lightning, Tensor Flow, scikit-learn).
• Experience with hardware and software for real-time audio applications
• If German is not the first language, proof of knowledge of German at level C1 (Common European Reference Framework for

Languages) or, alternatively, proof of comparable knowledge of English must be provided as a prerequisite for admission to

the PhD programme.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary research teams
• Independent and goal-oriented working style
• Sensitivity in dealing with gender, diversity and sustainability
• Experience in the field of Science Communication (Science Outreach) is welcome

Contract

• The employment contract is limited to 4 years. The employment contract needs to include the completion of an academic

doctoral degree in the field of “Sound and Music Computing“.

• Employment level: part-time, employment level of 75 % of full-time employment.
• Salary: minimum monthly gross salary currently € 2,832.07 (14x annually) according to the collective bargaining Agreement for

University Staff and may be increased based on the terms of the collective agreement, considering the professional experience

relevant to the position.
