Research associate in the protective forests and natural hazards sector

Participate in a national research project to promote biodiversity in protective forests
Model the protective effect of forests against landslides and rockfall, including the influence of deadwood
Derive indicators of the protective effect
Analyse relationships between the protective effect and forest structures
Write scientific reports and publications

MSc in Environmental Sciences, Forest Sciences, Geography
PhD an advantage
Experience in modelling landslide and/or rockfall processes and the protective effect of forests
Knowledge of natural hazard processes, in particular rockfall and landslides as well as protective forest management
Experience in the use of GIS as well as Python or R
Confidence in mountain terrain and experience in field surveys an advantage
Native German or French speaker with good knowledge of the other language; good knowledge of English
