We are looking for a
Research Associate – Culture and Democracy Indicator (gn)
part-time (20 hours per week), to start as soon as possible. The position is subject to final confirmation of funding and will be limited until 31 December 2026. Further extensions may be possible if funding continues.
The Indicator framework for Culture and Democracy is a joint project with the Council of Europe. It seeks to examine the relationship between culture and democracy across the member states of the Council over time. The project start is June 1 and proceeds on a tight timeline as the release of the indicator framework is scheduled for November/December at high-level meetings in Strasbourg.
Your tasks:
- Identification of variables and development of a multiple indicator framework;
- Collection of data for the 2000 to 2026 period;
- Data analysis using advanced statistical models;
- Interpretation of results;
- Drafting results memos and report elements.
Your profile:

Master’s degree in a relevant field;

Familiarity with indicator research and statistical analysis;

Knowledge of comparative policy research;

Solid skills in data management;

Basic knowledge of cultural policy;

Familiarity with theories of democracy;

Writing proficiency in English.
